Fated Blades – Ilona Andrews
This was a fun light-sf romance. The protagonists come from enemy families - think Capulets and Montagues with light sabers - and must work together when is stolen from both of them on behalf of who will use it to . They wind up together, of course, but the reader expects that.
It was fun to read - as Ilona Andrews novels generally are - and if you have enjoyed their work in the past, you’ll enjoy this one too. It dips down to three stars because it is too formulaic - down to the final ‘sword’ fight that is satisfying to read and makes no plot sense.
