This is book three of A Shadowed Awakening. In the first book, we meet Nora as a somewhat-broken eight-year-old who has two other sets of memories - one from an Earth partly like ours, one from the somewhat-broken adult Nora would have become. She is exiled to a frontier town. (Her mother is extremely neglectful. In the case of the exile, the change from neglect to abandonment is to Nora’s benefit.) Book two covered the long trip from Nora’s old home to her new one, but laid the foundation for her to start flourishing. In “A Shadowed Awakening” she does.
