Princess Floralinda and the Forty-Flight Tower – Tamsyn Muir
There’s an art to locking a princess up in a tower. Rescuing here needs to be challenging, but not so challenging that nobody will bother. There needs to be a worth-while reward, but it has to be within the wicked witch’s budget. (The best thing about “and half the kingdom” is that someone else pays for that). There have to be supplies to keep the captive alive and princessy.
This witch got carried away.
Tongue-in-cheek fairy tales have become too common. But Tamsyn Muir does this one beautifully! The book is short - and pricey for its page count - but worth it. (Well, worth it as an ebook. There’s a hardcover…and there’s sticker shock.) Delightfully-dry humor.
