Of Wizards and Ravens – Charm&Fable
Promising Start - Exposition-Heavy
The premise is good, and the story starts well. The protagonist is able for his age, and has great potential for growth, but he is hiding/fleeing from evil relatives who could crush him easily. He is accepted to an excellent magical university - and his survival depends on his realizing that growth potential in a great hurry.
At that point, information dumps begin to crowd out the story. An increasing number of chapters consist of the protagonist going to a class, and the reader learning something more about magic.
