Altura's Defiance – Random Cat

Altura is a ten-year-old Duchess, just beginning her Cultivation, with the memories of a seventeen-year-old from our world. She has been given a small, useless domain. Within that domain, she is a power. In the wider world, her beginning status puts her at the bottom of a very tall ladder.

Pro: Familiar tropes handled well. The book was fun to read.

Con: The constant breaking of the ‘fourth wall’ - the narrator frequently refers to a character as an MC - distracts from the story, and gives the book a fan-fiction feel.
